Taxis and hire vehicles

The Victorian Taxi Directorate (VTD) regulates the taxi and hire vehicle industries and issues Driving Instructor Authorities. The VTD is part of the Public Transport Division of the Department of Transport.

All taxis must have working EFTPOS facilities. If your taxi driver says the EFTPOS terminal is not working: Record the taxi driver ID and taxi number Get a receipt at the end of the trip Contact the Victorian Taxi Directorate with the trip details
