Multi Purpose Taxi Program exemptions

Members of the Multi Purpose Taxi Program who suffer any of the following conditions to a severe and permanent extent (as determined by their doctor) which denies them independent access to any form of Public Transport are exempt from an annual subsidy cap.

Blindness (visual impairment)
determined by a registered specialist ophthalmologist
  • Legally blind (defined as a visual acuity of less than 6/60 with best corrected vision and both eyes open, or a visual field of less than 5 degrees of central vision, or central vision loss of greater than 10 degrees)
  • Aphakia
  • Kerataconus
  • Macular degeneration
  • Night blindness
  • Retinal degeneration
  • Retinitus pigmentosa
  • Tunnel vision
  • Uschers syndrome
  • Homonymous Hemianopia
Brain damage
  • Acquired Brain Injury ( ABI)
  • Alcoholism
  • Aneurysm
  • Anoxic myoclonus
  • Cerebellar artery insufficiency
  • Cerebellar ataxia
  • Cerebral atrophy

(expressive dysphrasia)
